Volunteers of America is one of the nation's largest nonprofit providers of quality, affordable housing for low and moderate-income families, people with disabilities and the elderly.

Volunteers of America incorporate many support activities into its housing initiatives. Many communities offer computer learning centers and youth development programs. Many of our elderly homes have professionally-staffed recreational, social and health services. We also provide care facilities for people with mental and physical disabilities, as well as for people coping with HIV and AIDS.

Lord Tennyson Apartments, Hayward
A 252-unit moderate to low-income family apartment complex serving over 1,100 people. Lord Tennyson recently underwent a $33M renovation.

East Cliff Village Senior Apartments
East Cliff Village Apartments, is a HUD-supported, 76-apartment independent living complex built in 1986. It offers 68 studio and 1-bedroom apartments to very low-income residents 62 and over. Six 1-bedroom units are specifically designed to accommodate very low-income, mobility-impaired residents 18 and over. The Community Administrator, and the Maintenance Superintendent occupy the remaining two apartments. There is also a Services Coordinator to look after the welfare of the residents. The facility offers low-cost laundry facilities, a car wash, and a community room with exercise equipment and large-screen television.
