Among the challenges faced by social service organizations are rising costs and diminishing resources. At times like these, charitable donations serve to supplement and help balance the need for quality service with the cost of providing quality care. We realize that you have a choice as to the organization in which you will invest your time, talent and resources. At Volunteers of America Bay Area, your trust in us as a good public steward of your charitable contribution is taken very seriously.
Personal Gift
You can gift a cash gift to Volunteers of America Bay Area by either sending a check or using a credit card.

Planned Giving
It is a myth that one must be wealthy to participate in planned giving. There are a variety of instruments available to make a planned gift. Planned giving is a financial gift that is planned well in advance by the donor. The beneficiary (Volunteers of America Bay Area) is usually named in a will or trust. This type of gift is deferred to a future date. However, the donor receives immediate tax benefits. Many people find planned giving is more convenient than making intermittent donations. Do You Have a Will or Living Trust?
Making out a will or living trust – whether you have living heirs or not – is a smart step to take because it places the final disposition of your estate in your hands. Having a will or living trust has many benefits for your estate, heirs and community.
  • Distributes your property according to your wishes instead of letting the government take over the handling of your estate.
  • Enables you to choose the executor or personal representative of your choice.
  • Conserves estate resources from tax and cost erosion.
  • Enables you to name Volunteers of America Bay Area as a beneficiary or successor beneficiary (if no primary beneficiaries are still living) in your will or living trust.
  • If you don’t have any heirs, it is still wise to make out a will or living trust. Having a will or trust enables you to leave behind a legacy to your community in the form of a charitable donation to one or more nonprofit organizations.
When making out your will or trust, we hope you’ll remember the mission and work of Volunteers of America Bay Area. If you already have a will, all you need to add is a codicil to your existing will to include Volunteers of America. Sometimes, one of the main stumbling blocks to making out a will or living trust is not knowing where to locate competent legal counsel to complete a valid will or trust. In Kind Donation

  • Art, antiques, jewelry, coins, stamps and other investment collectibles
  • Income streams, current and estimated from all sources.

Gift of Time – Get Involved by Volunteering
Volunteers are a very important part of our work. Dedicated Volunteers provide leadership by serving on our board of directors, providing direction and oversight. Volunteers actively engage in many services. We have opportunities for people of all ages to get involved in any of our programs, events and services**.

Volunteers of America is not a clearinghouse for individuals interested in volunteer service opportunities with various agencies, nor do we supply or recruit volunteers for outside agencies or events. If we do not have a volunteer service opportunity within Volunteers of America Bay Area that fits your needs or locale, we will do our best to refer you to an appropriate agency.
